rights and remedies as the subjects of such other contract-

ing party, without being compelled to submit to any other

or more onerous conditions then such subjects.

The provisions of this convention, in respect of de-

signs and trade-marke, shall be deemed to extend to the

application to goods of any figures, words or marks,

arrangements or combination thereof, whether including a

trade-mark or not, which are reasonably calculated to lead

persons to believe that the goods are the manufacture or mor-

chandise of some other person than the person whose mer-

chandise or manufacture they really are.

Article 2.

Bach high contracting perty engages to extend to the

subjects of the other contracting party the same treatment

in China in the matter of the protection of their commercial

names as they enjoy in the country of such contracting

party under the convention for the protection of industrial

property, signed at Paris on the 20th March 1883.

"long" marks shall be considered to be commercial names

for the purpose of this convention.
